Don
Don is married with 2 grown up sons. He has worked in Financial Services for the last 25 years, starting life at Lloyds TSB before moving to Zurich Financial Services in 1994. Having worked for 2 of the largest Tied Financial Distributers, Don became an Independent Financial Adviser in 2004.
The time was right in 2004 to become an IFA as this allowed him to give advice from the whole of the market. Don believed that this was very important to his clients.
Being independent was a "breath of fresh air" as he had previously spent long periods of time advising on mainly Managed funds from the Tied Providers.
He truly believes that service is paramount in his relationships with his clients and with the research tools that Simple Solutions subscribe to as a Practice; he can provide a level of service that enhances these relationships.
Don has lived in Warrington all his life. He enjoys most sports, playing golf, and watching rugby league and football. When not working he enjoys going to stay at his home in Portugal.
Rab Shields
Rab is married with 3 children and is originally from Musselburgh, a town just outside of Edinburgh. He has worked in Financial Services since1974 and was employed by Scottish Widows, initially at their Head Office in Edinburgh, specialising in final salary pension schemes before moving to the North West as a Relationship Manager supporting IFA’s in the region.
He then worked for MGM Assurance providing Inheritance Tax solutions to IFA’s in the North West of England.
Having worked closely with IFA’s for over 15 years helping them to develop their business he was encouraged to become one himself. He is passionate about providing his clients with an outstanding level of service together with bespoke advice based on their needs and ambitions.
He looks to develop long term relationships with his clients rather than just selling them products.
He enjoys quiet weekends at home with his wife and youngest son and in Scotland visiting his two eldest children and his grandson. He enjoys all sports especially football and likes to get to the gym when work allows. He regularly attends various business networking groups in the Warrington and Wigan area.
