Apr/11 - Who needs an Independent Financial Adviser?
Historically, only those regarded as wealthy used a financial adviser, everyone else saved a little for a rainy day, maybe in the bank, possibly with the man from the Pru who called at the house on a Saturday morning and if they were lucky they had a workplace pension. That was probably the extent of their financial plans to make sure they enjoyed a happy retirement.
Thankfully this is no longer true. Independent financial advice and support is now available to all levels of clients. Thanks to social media and websites such as www.unbiased.co.uk everyone can find an IFA in their area that will be able to help them with their financial plans.
Simple Solutions provides help and support in lots of different scenarios to lots of different client profiles.
It can be arranging a £25,000 life insurance policy that costs a few pounds or helping a client with overall assets in excess of £1M to mitigate their inheritance tax liability and all points in between.
Everyone, and I mean every individual of any age who doesn’t have a financial plan would benefit from sitting down with an IFA and setting out their financial goals for them and their family.
There are many points in your life cycle that need to be planned for:
- Going to university
- Getting a job
- Setting up a pension
- Buying your first home
- Getting married
- Having children
- Moving house
- Children going to school
- Changing jobs
- Moving house
- Children going to university
- Moving house
- Children getting married
- Grandchildren
- Special anniversary
- Retirement
- Death
- Passing on your wealth to your chosen beneficiaries
Every event listed above costs money. A financial plan can help you to fund for each of these events. A good financial plan is reviewed and amended periodically with your IFA
